The Regional Municipality of Durham Works Depots are strategically located facilities that serve as the operational backbone for maintaining the region’s vast infrastructure. There are six primary depots across the municipality—including sites in Oshawa/Whitby, Ajax/Pickering, Scugog, Orono, and Sunderland—which act as hubs for essential field services. These depots are responsible for the hands-on maintenance of the Regional Road Network, handling critical tasks such as snow clearing, pothole repairs, and roadside grass cutting. Additionally, they manage the day-to-day upkeep of water and sewer infrastructure, including fire hydrants, water meters, and sewer connections.
