Profile
Simcoe Hall Settlement House is a long-standing community-centered non-profit organization that has been serving the Durham Region from its base in Oshawa since 1935. Originally established during the Great Depression to assist immigrants and families facing extreme poverty, it has evolved into a vital multi-service agency located on Simcoe Street South. The organization is perhaps best known for operating one of the region’s busiest food banks, but its impact extends much further through comprehensive children’s after-school programs, summer day camps, and the “Sassy Seniors” social club. By providing essential resources like holiday food hampers, a seasonal toy drive, and school backpacks, Simcoe Hall remains a cornerstone of support for vulnerable individuals and families working toward personal growth and financial stability.
