Profile
The Brock Rugby Club is a storied community sports organization in the Durham Region, founded in 1978 by Bob Barrow to foster the sport in the northern part of the region. Based in Blackwater (within the Township of Brock), the club is recognized for its robust grassroots philosophy, maintaining one of the largest junior and flag rugby programs in Ontario alongside its competitive senior men’s and women’s sides. The club operates out of its primary grounds on Regional Road 13, but it has recently launched the “Green Space 2027 Initiative”—a capital fundraising project aimed at developing new practice fields and expanded facilities to accommodate its growing membership. Beyond the pitch, the club is a pillar of local social life, hosting annual community events like “Trade Nights,” video dances, and charity fundraisers that bring together athletes and supporters from across the rural townships.
