Lakeridge Health Oshawa is a leading community hospital and the largest facility within the Lakeridge Health network, serving as a primary healthcare hub for the Durham Region. Located at 1 Hospital Court, it is home to the world-class R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, which provides advanced oncology services to patients across Ontario’s Central East region. The hospital offers a comprehensive range of high-acuity services, including a 24/7 Emergency Department, critical care, cardiac care, stroke prevention, and specialized units for surgery, mental health, and kidney care. As a major teaching site, it hosts the Lakeridge Health Education and Research Network (LHEARN) and the Queen’s-Lakeridge Health MD Family Medicine Program, training the next generation of medical professionals in state-of-the-art simulation labs. Originally opened in 1910 as Oshawa General Hospital, the site has evolved into a modern medical powerhouse while maintaining deep community ties through its long-standing Auxiliary and volunteer programs.
