Ajax Baptist Church

Ajax Baptist Church is one of the town’s oldest congregations, established in 1945—before Ajax was even officially incorporated. Known as the “church beside the highway” due to its location overlooking the 401 (at 56 Angus Drive), it has remained a steady spiritual presence for over 80 years. The church is dedicated to traditional biblical teaching and the proclamation of the gospel, often describing itself as “ministering the changeless Christ to a changing world.” Its community life includes Sunday morning worship services, which are also livestreamed, along with specialized weekly programs like Men’s and Ladies’ Bible studies and “Ladies Mosaic Worship.” Despite the rapid growth of the Durham Region around it, the church maintains a close-knit, family-focused atmosphere committed to local and global mission work.
