Encounter Durham (formerly DCF)

Encounter Durham (formerly known as Durham Christian Fellowship or DCF) is a relational, kingdom-focused church that has served the Durham Region for over 30 years. Originally founded in 1992 by three couples seeking to establish an apostolic and prophetic work, the congregation recently rebranded to “Encounter Durham” to better reflect its mission: “Encounter the King, Extend the Kingdom.” The church currently meets on Sunday mornings at Pickering Christian School (162 Rossland Rd E, Ajax), where services emphasize presence-centered worship, intimacy with God, and a “culture of honour.” Led by Pastor John Kurish, the community is known for its welcoming, family-like atmosphere and its active ministries, including “Beautiful Trust” for women and various small groups designed to equip members for spiritual impact in their daily lives.
