Forest Brook Community Church

Forest Brook Community Church is a relational, “Jesus-following” congregation located in Ajax (60 Kearney Drive) that emphasizes authenticity and hospitality over formal structure. Rooted in the Brethren tradition, the church is known for its weekly practice of communion and its “Every Member Ministry” philosophy, which encourages congregants to use their unique gifts to serve both the church and the broader Durham community. The church offers a wide range of specialized programs, including Celebrate Recovery for those dealing with life’s “hurts, habits, and hang-ups,” the Connections Cafe (a community kitchen and lunch program), and GriefShare support groups. Additionally, Forest Brook is active in local environmental and social initiatives, such as community tree planting with the TRCA and hosting blood donor clinics, fostering a “whole village” atmosphere that welcomes people at any stage of their spiritual journey.
