Profile
BGC Durham (formerly the Boys and Girls Club of Durham) is a prominent non-profit organization that has been providing recreational, social, and educational programs for children and youth in the Durham Region since 1963. Headquartered at its main clubhouse at 433 Eulalie Avenue in Oshawa, the organization operates across 15 locations, including a major unit at Northview (Beatrice Street East) and various school-based sites in Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, and Clarington. BGC Durham serves over 7,000 members annually, offering a diverse array of services such as licensed after-school care, aquatics and swimming lessons, and specialized youth justice programs. With a focus on inclusivity and belonging, the center provides a safe “third space” where young people aged 4 to 21 can access academic support through the “Learn On” program, participate in physical activities like “Ball at the Centre,” and develop leadership skills in a supportive environment.
