Durham Continuing Education (DCE) is the primary hub for adult and alternative learning within the Durham District School Board, serving residents across the Durham Region. Based primarily out of the E.A. Lovell Centre in Oshawa with additional sites in Pickering, DCE provides a diverse range of programs designed to help individuals reach their academic and professional goals. These offerings include adult day school for those looking to complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, night and summer school credits, and specialized training like the Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate. Beyond traditional high school credits, the center is a vital resource for newcomers, offering English as a Second Language (ESL) and Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), as well as literacy and basic skills upgrading for career readiness.
