Profile
The Durham RoadRunners are a Junior “A” ice hockey team based in Oshawa, competing in the South Division of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). Originally established in 2015 as the Oshawa Riverkings, the team rebranded to the RoadRunners in 2019 to better represent the broader Durham Region while maintaining their home base at the Delpark Homes Arena (formerly the Legends Centre). The organization focuses on elite player development for athletes aged 15 to 21, drawing a diverse international roster from across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Known for a high-intensity style of play, the RoadRunners have become a competitive staple in the league, highlighted by their appearance as Russell Cup Finalists in the 2021–2022 season and their strong emphasis on community integration through local billeting programs.
