Teddy’s Restaurant & Deli is a legendary Oshawa institution that has been a cornerstone of the Durham Region’s dining scene since it was founded in 1980 by brothers Ted and Chris Tzogas. Now operated by father-and-son team Bill and James Panos, the restaurant occupies a historic former bank building at 245 King St. W. and is famous for its retro, wood-paneled atmosphere adorned with vintage Hollywood memorabilia. It is best known for its “obscene” portion sizes and a commitment to scratch-made comfort food, including house-made dressings, hand-ground burgers, and deli meats that are slow-cooked and sliced to order.
