Ummah Foundation Of Durham

The Ummah Foundation of Durham (UFD) is a prominent non-profit organization and registered charity founded in 2013 to serve the spiritual, social, and economic needs of the growing Muslim community in the Durham Region. Located on a nearly six-acre property at 1423 Thornton Road North in Oshawa, the foundation provides a welcoming space for Muslims of all backgrounds and ethnicities. Currently, the site operates a temporary prayer facility offering five daily prayers and Jumu’ah (Friday congregational prayer), alongside a variety of community programs including Quranic classes for children, adult Islamic studies, and family counseling services. The organization is notably committed to fostering harmony both within the Muslim community and through interfaith dialogue, aiming to build a society rooted in compassion and mutual understanding.
