Thistledown Pet Memorial

Thistledown Pet Memorial is a highly regarded pet loss care facility located in Uxbridge, within Ontario’s Durham Region. Established in 1998 by Nancy and Colin Graham, the centre was founded to provide the compassionate, dignified farewell they felt was missing when they lost their own dog. Situated on 50 serene acres of the Oak Ridges Moraine, the facility offers a peaceful setting for owners to grieve and honor their companions. Distinct from many other providers, Thistledown operates its own on-site crematorium, which allows them to offer specialized services such as “attended private” cremations where families can be present during the process. In addition to cremation and urn services, they provide extensive grief support resources and memorial options (including scattering gardens and niche walls), emphasizing a “human element” of care that treats pets as cherished family members.
